Rent Charge Letter March 2025

Dear Enfield Island Village Resident

I hope this letter finds you well. We’re reaching out to share some important information about the upcoming year’s rent charge, as decided by the Enfield Island Village Trust for the period from 01 April 2025 to 31 March 2026. Please look out for the payment request that we’ll be sending soon.

As part of owning a home here, you would have signed a Deed of Rentcharge. This agreement is why there is a yearly rent charge, and we kindly ask that you arrange for this year’s payment by 30 April 2024. This charge covers the communal facilities on the Island including the green spaces, the ornamental canal, lighting, litter picking and removing fly tipping.

The Enfield Island Village Trustees have carefully put together a budget for the next year and want to assure you that we’ve done our best to keep costs as low as possible, ensuring we can still take good care of our community spaces and services without placing too much burden on any of us. In doing this, we have been able to keep the Rent Charge at the same price as the previous year and so, with no increase, the cost will be £300.

We understand times can be tough, and if you’re finding it difficult to meet this payment, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’re more than willing to talk about how we can make things easier for you. You’ll find our contact details at the end of this letter.

If you have any unpaid charges from previous years, our team at Rendall and Rittner will handle those separately. So, there’s no need to worry about mixing the two.

We wish to inform you that there has been a significant rise in fly-tipping over recent years, and each time we need to have it removed, the cost is covered by the Rent Charge funds. We kindly ask everyone to be more considerate when disposing of rubbish. Enfield Council offers a service to collect bulky waste items from your home if you arrange it with them. We are organising a Spring Clean event on Wednesday, 9th April, starting at 10:30 am. Rendall and Rittner, along with the Trustees, will be on-site for a litter pick, and we would be delighted if residents could join us. Let’s work together to keep the Island tidy and a pleasant place for us all to live.

Lastly, we’d love to invite you to our next Coffee Morning at the Community Centre on Saturday 26th April 2025, between 10:30am -12:30pm. It’s a great chance to ask any questions, share your thoughts, or just enjoy some good company and coffee. The Enfield Island Village Trustees will all be there and would be delighted to see you.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. We’re all in this together, and it’s our collective efforts that make Enfield Island the special place it is. Looking forward to catching up soon.

 Kind regards

Alison Carey
